It's A Walk In The Park!
A Visit to Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay is also a Walk in the Park
We also strive to achieve that goal through careful and creative planning of the park's grounds. According to Ed Hart, President and CEO of Kentucky Kingdom, "Landscaping adds a beautiful and ever-changing atmosphere to the park. The kaleidoscope of colors and silhouettes in our many flower beds and other plantings, shrubs, and trees changes with the seasons, transforming the park's appearance with each new phase of the year – and giving people another reason to visit the park often."
There are more than 60 thrilling rides and attractions inside the 63-acre Kentucky Kingdom and Hurricane Bay, but the park is also home to thousands of trees, shrubs, perennial plants, annual flowers, and ornamental grasses. And it's not just by chance! Depending upon the season, you'll notice that blossoming trees, shrubs, and flower beds are actually coordinated with the colors of nearby rides and buildings. While many theme parks simply maintain what landscaping they have, Kentucky Kingdom makes a real investment in its grounds, acquiring thousands of new plants each season. The park also operates its own greenhouses year-round. They house a wide variety of plants, including tropicals, succulents, annuals, perennials, and even vegetables.
